You may question the sustainability of using wool from 8,000 miles away from the UK.
The majority of the wool from the Falkland Islands comes to the UK for processing, and it travels by ship, along with freight that is a well-sailed route between our two islands.
The essential base ingredient for handwoven creations is non-itchy quality British wool & Alpaca.
I use suppliers who can trace the fibres to source, ensuring quality of supply. It matters where they come from & how they’re produced.
It is of exceptional quality and I have been fortunate to visit many times to see the care with which the farmers take of their livestock. I also use Alpaca from UK Alpaca.
I hand-dye in small batches using non-toxic dyes.
I re-use water when I can, a microwave for heat and a renewable energy provider.
As of September 2024, I’m installing a water butt to allow me to reduce mains water use.
I have a hand spinner to remove excess water and it is then hung to air-dry.
I have a no plastic policy. I only use pure fibres & no plastic in packaging.
As I only use pure fibres, at the end of its long life, it will biodegrade naturally and quickly.

The colours shown here are a representation of what I can create, I’m happy to help you create a piece that’s unique to you, just ask, they’ll be no obligation to proceed.
