Design
Handwoven from Isle of Man rare breed Loaghtan (pronounced 'lockton') wool & Falkland Islands hand-dyed in natural grey in a houndstooth design. It is also available in stripes, just make your selection.
The Loaghtan is from the Isle of Man National Trust. The sheep are at Cregneash, a wonderful place showing a traditional way of Manx life.
Care
Air frequently, wash infrequently. Full instructions regarding care is provided.
Provinence
The Falkland Islands wool I use is supplied by Wooltops (www.wooltops.co.uk). I also use Alpaca from www.ukalpaca.com.
All Falklands wool comes to the UK via ship.
I hand-dye when I need colour using non-toxic dyes.
Postage
Great Britain and Crown dependency postage is included in the price. I subsidise overseas postage.
Due to GPRS rules, I am unable to send to the EU or Northern Ireland, but will do so when it’s financially viable for me.
Presentation
Each creation is gift-wrapped in tissue paper with a care card and a sprig of Lavender (excludes Australia & New Zealand due to customs regulations) before being boxed.
Fibre options
The Falkland Islands wool is genuinely soft next to the skin, the Loaghtan isn’t as soft, but is not a scratchy wool.
Choose from:
Medium weight (double-knit) wool or alpaca. Breathable warmth from quality wool, the most popular choice.
Lightweight (4-ply) wool.
Very lightweight (2-ply) laceweight wool. Ideal for very warm weather climates. It takes the longest time to weave, but worth the results. Woven using the smallest reed I have for the looms, it gives a smaller design and finer detail.
Changes in colours & some designs carry no extra charge, but I don’t do hard sell, so feel free to ask.
